12 Course TEMPURA Dinner in Tokyo Japan!

I hear when you’re in Tokyo you gotta stop by for some tempura, and I heard this place is really good, this is Tempura suna achi, let’s go check it out. Think I’m gunna go for the set of 12 different tempuras. So apparently when eating tempura there’s a system. They usually give you some salt, grated radish and tentsuyu sauce and there’s 3 ways to eat it, actually pour the tentsuyu sauce over the raddish and then dip the tempura in there another way is to put some salt on a plate and dip the tempura in there and eat it that way the chef has just indicated to me that that’s our complete tempura platter so everything you see here is going to be made into tempura so I see scallops, fish, shrimp, there’s green peppers, eggplant, lotus root and what looks like seaweed wrapped rice look it’s still moving, so fresh! You guys might have heard me scream a little bit, that’s because the two shrimps that’s gunna become our tempura jumped like a foot into the air so of course I reacted in the only way I knew how screamed like a little girl The first thing that comes to my plate is the shrimp head took my tentsuyu sauce, like they mentioned, and pour it over my raddish mix that up dip my shrimp head in there I’ll never look at shrimp head the same way again, ever next, I’m just going to take a little salt, put it on my plate different types of salt here, wasabi salt touch the tempura to the salt it’s like eating the freshest shrimp cracker hey guys, I’m talking in a really low voice because it’s really quiet in here so I don’t want to disturb anyone else’s meal Next is, the body of the shrimp first one, dip into my raddish and sauce I’m gonna just eat the whole thing with the tail

  1. There should have been a follow-up video showing us what you ate after leaving here because we know you weren't even remotely full after eating this meal, Mike!

  2. I tried to stimulate me doing and eating everything he did, what followed was a very happy teen and a LOT of bills the happy teen can't pay…

  3. Mikey, I'm not your best friend but you look rather tired in this. Making a food video isn't compulsory, y'know. Love most of your stuff. You also seem to have eaten bad tempura, it is available at a reasonable price in London

  4. Please, Please, Please tell me that the fried shrimp in American they will take the heads off. I just can not eat shrimp with the heads on. I am from Texas and I do not eat shrimp the way you eat them. I love your noodle video's the best.

  5. Watching your reactions is hilarious. I was in Akasaka last week and had tempura at Ark Hills and I had those same facial reactions. I've never had tempura like that – so light, crispy, fresh. The mitake mushroom was bomb! Also had a thin slice of chicken thigh wrapped in a "leaf" which was fantastic.

  6. At 1:11 does he get pink?
If you say yes you can like the comment if you dont then you can dislike it but just look at his skin carefully 👍/👎

  7. That looked delicious! if it's not in people's price range though there are plenty of places that will still serve a wonderful huge bowl of ten-don (mixed tempura on rice) for about $12.

  8. Mickey i found the same thing with tempura in the states restaurants. My wifes aunt is Japanese and tought us the correct way to make it 40 years ago. Best way to get kids to eat veggies.

  9. I always was scared of shrimp head because of their piercing eyes .its like they are looking at u also I kind of see that a bit disgusting since I don't eat a lot of meat. So I never eat shrimp heads. though they are very tasty because of their brains

  10. OMG, if you don't like eel and sea urchin, you are NOT a Japanese Food person, sorry, but that's the truth hahahahaha

  11. It is always good to be open-minded in exploring the great cuisines of the world. Otherwise, you won't know what you have been missing all your life until now.

  12. Hands down…your my absolute favorite YouTube blogger!!!! I love your love for food, culture and trying new foods!!! 💯👊🏽❤️

  13. I'm terrified of going to Japan because I know I'd come back big as a whale. I am kookoo bananas for tempura and have to force myself to stop eating it. That looks amazing. I love eggplant but have never seem it tempura'd. Have never tried lotus root either but I really want to now.

  14. when you fry right its not oily/ greasy. When you get greasy food from a place that means they didn't fry it right and/ or they don't know how to fry right.

  15. Those older people behind Mikey are soooo funny. And their positions are perfect for the camera. Yeeeeeee…
