2 Years of The Melodramatic Bookworm! | 2nd BookTube Anniversary | Giveaway Alert!

Hey guys! This is Sonali, The Melodramatic Bookworm,
welcome back to my channel! I just want to say a big, big, big, big, big
thank you to everyone who’s joined the Melodramatic Bookworm family because we are now at 1,000
subscribers. We crossed 1,000 subscribers a couple of days
ago and I’m so, so, so happy. I’m so glad – a big thank you to everyone
who made that happen. And here’s to hoping that we grow even more
as a melodramatic family and we get to share our love for books in
a more diverse manner – – is that the right word? I don’t know, I’m really too excited to think
properly. If you’re new to my channel, then don’t forget
to like, share, and subscribe, and click on the bell icon so that you can stay updated
with my videos and a big thank you for coming up here, for
coming to my channel, and thinking my channel to be worth your time. And to all the old-timers who have been here
for a long time and who have supported me, a big thank you for sticking by me. I hope you’ll stay with me throughout the
life of this channel. So stay tuned because I have a giveaway announcement
in “honor” of my second BookTube anniversary, which I will be announcing in a while. Today is my second BookTube anniversary! Second! I’ve been on here 2 years and I just cannot
believe it, because when I actually started doing BookTube, I was like, “Okay, here is
one more medium in which I can go and talk about books and share my love for books.” But it had taken me a lot of courage to actually
come up and do that introduction video which I despise to no end! Well, not despise because it was the starting
point but I hate watching that video. If you haven’t seen it, for my first anniversary,
I had watched and literally reacted (badly) to my first couple of videos – the introduction
and then a couple of other videos. And I was like… why? Why couldn’t you have done it in a better
manner? Do some research, no? 2 years down the line, I’ve got some sense
into my head and I’ve gotten better at making videos, at least that’s what I tell myself. I don’t know how everybody else sees it. But I feel like I’ve made some progress in
the way I make videos, in the way I talk in front of the camera, in the editing, in blah
blah blah. The thing is, I don’t know how long I’m going
to be on BookTube, hopefully for a very long time to come. But for the time that I am on here, I feel
like I need to show and give back the love that I have been receiving over the past couple
of years and for that, a big, big, big thank you for
showing me so much love and for encouraging me when I felt down. There were times when I just wanted to – I
just thought, “What is the point of it all?” I just thought of giving up. I did not want to continue making videos. If you’re taking an hour to shoot, an hour
to film the video, then you are going to go edit it and that is going to take 4-5 hours
of time which I’ve reduced a little but still. Listening to your own voice for such a long
time – it sort of makes me so – *grits teeth* – it irritates me to no end. And when someone else is watching my videos
in the room, I go, “Can you please use earphones? I hate the sound of my own voice because I’m
listening to it – I’m constantly listening to it and I have had enough of it.” But what I’m trying to say is there were and
are so many of you who encourage me every single day. And when I’m feeling low, your words of encouragement
– you just say, “I love your videos” and that simple sentence is enough to keep me going
for a long time. And I’m very happy with where I am right now
especially because I was hoping to reach 1,000 subscribers before my 2nd BookTube anniversary
and we have crossed 1,000 subscribers! I am so, so happy! I just want to say a big, big thank you to
everyone who’s joined the Melodramatic family and who have been so supportive over the years,
those of you who thought it was worth your time to subscribe to my channel. And I’m hoping that with your help, with your
motivation, with your encouragement, we’ll be able to increase our family as we go. Anyway, I just wanted to say a big thank you
for being here, for encouraging me, for getting me to 1,000 subscribers, for staying with
me for the entirety of the two years, and for helping me through so much, and for encouraging
me, for your words of comfort, for your words of encouragement. Every time one of you says, “I love your videos”
or “I love how you make your videos” or “I’m looking forward to your next video” – it just
makes my day. And I hope you will stick by me! I promise you that I have a lot of interesting
content coming up. I have a few more – a couple more – travel
vlogs,. Then I have a few more reading vlogs, which
I was supposed to have done a long time ago, but did not. Because in this whole excitement, it just
went up! But it will come. I’m planning to do a reading vlog for Ninth
House by Leigh Bardugo as well as for The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern. And there is the series of other videos that’s
also coming which I have already posted five videos so far, I think. I think that’s the ‘I Found Yet Another Shitty
Book’ – that series. So I think the last one will come soon. I hope you will stay tuned for that! But to celebrate 2 years on BookTube and the
1,000 subs, I’m planning to do a little giveaway. Little giveaway as in, I’m planning to give
away two books. One is Great Goddesses by Nikita Gill. This was one of my favorite books of 2019. So I thought, why not go a giveaway? Why not – more people should read it – so
why not just do a giveaway for it? And the second book will be any house edition
of Harry Potter, a hardcover edition, that will be. The winner will get to pick the house, the
book that they want – The Philosopher’s Stone, The Chamber of Secrets, The Prisoner of Azkaban
– whichever book they want. And it’s going to be a hardcover edition. (already mentioned it but dunno why I had
to do it again) If you’d like to participate in this giveaway
and if you’d like to stand a chance to win one of these two books, then all you have
to do is 1. Hit subscribe. 2. Like and share and spread the word about this
giveaway (and my channel) as much as possible 3. Get more of your bookish friends to come join
the melodramatic bookworm family. 4. Let me know in the comments below how you’d
like me to get in touch with you if you happen to win. If you want me to contact you on Instagram,
if you want me to contact you via email – drop your emails or Instagram IDs or any of your
social media IDs in the comments below so that I can get in touch with you if you win. So that is the giveaway that I am hosting. If you are interested in participating in
this giveaway, then please do follow the rules and let me know in the comments below when
you’re done. So that was my video for today. Let me know in the comments below if you will
be participating in the giveaway and if you have any feedback for me, or if you want me
to make any certain type of video that you have in mind that you think I should do. Leave your feedback, comments, and suggestions
in the comments below so that I can work on them and I can put out the content that you
really, really want to see. Thanks for watching! I’ll see you in the next video. Until next time, keep reading, keep watching
and add melodrama to your life!
