5 Superfood Healthy Smoothie Recipes For Breakfast Lunch & Dinner + ANNOUNCEMENT! – Mind Over Munch

Happy New Year, Munchers! If you’re new to the channel, my name’s
Alyssia, and I am so happy to have you here. The start of the new year is always an exciting
time for me, and I just have a quick New Year’s announcement
before I get to the recipes! I know many of us have healthy resolutions
for 2018, and if you’re trying to eat healthier this
year, meal prep can be SO helpful with sticking to those healthy changes. But, the idea of meal prep can be pretty intimidating
for a lot of us… So, to give you some inspiration for the new year AND to make meal prepping easier and more accessible, I’m sharing some exciting new content and
TONS of healthy recipes! I’ll be posting videos EVERY Monday and
Thursday throughout January, with new healthy recipes that are easy, meal-preppable,
and budget-friendly. Plus, we’ve got a few special videos in store that are unlike any we’ve ever done before… And, you can find even MORE healthy meal prep
recipes in my 2 NEW EBOOKS!!! Yaaaaay! I have designed 2 Meal Prep Recipe eBooks
that I am so excited about— one is low carb and one is vegetarian— and EACH eBook is filled with 35 fuel-filled,
meal-preppable recipes. There are 10 breakfasts, 10 on-the-go lunches,
10 dinners, and 5 snacks in each eBook, which means 10 days-worth of DIFFERENT meals that you can mix and match to create tons
of new meal plans. If you don’t like eating the SAME meals
all week, you don’t have to! ALL of the recipes are dairy-free and gluten-free,
many are also Whole 30 approved, and almost ALL of the recipes in the vegetarian
eBook are also vegan or have vegan options. That information is noted on every recipe,
along with possible modifications, and the nutritional information. And, to make your meal prepping even easier, there are instructions for how to cook and
store EVERY recipe for meal-prepping purposes, including how long each recipe will last in
the fridge or freezer. Both eBooks are available right now at mindovermunch.com/ebooks, and I hope you they can be helpful for you
in your healthy new year. Now onto the recipes! To kick off the New Year, I’m sharing 5
SUPERFOOD breakfast smoothies! These yummy smoothie recipes feature some
lesser-known superfoods that are worth including in your diet, and
they’re a great on-the-go breakfast option! We hear about common superfoods like kale
and blueberries so often because they’re loaded with healthy nutrients,
vitamins, and antioxidants, but there are tons of OTHER foods that are
nutritional superstars— they just aren’t talked about as much. First up: pomegranate pear smoothie! Pomegranate is a superfood that’s rich in
antioxidants and polyphenols, it actually has 3 times more antioxidants
than red wine or green tea! It’s also rich in Vitamin C, it’s anti-inflammatory,
and can help prevent cancer, Alzheimer’s, and arthritis. It also lowers blood pressure and prevents
heart disease! I add chopped pears, frozen banana, frozen
mixed berries— I’m using strawberries and raspberries for
the red color— pomegranate arils, pomegranate juice and milk
of choice. For all of these smoothies you can use ANY
milk you prefer— a nut milk is a great way to keep them dairy
free! Wowza! Look at that beautiful color. It’s sweet from the pear but has a hint of tartness from those berries
and pomegranate arils. So delicious! Next up is the Tropical Turmeric Smoothie! Turmeric is ALL the rage right now. It’s a spice that’s extremely anti-inflammatory
and it’s LOADED with antioxidants. It helps to prevent cancer, Alzheimer’s,
arthritis AND helps fight depression! For this smoothie, I want to show you my favorite
way to meal prep smoothies. I add frozen pineapple, frozen mango, fresh
peeled ginger, and turmeric into a freezer-safe plastic baggie. I can then freeze it for up to a month! When I’m ready to enjoy, I add the goods
to my blender with milk and let it rip! Another tip: Using frozen fruit makes it so
that I don’t need to add ice to thicken the smoothie. Voila! A delicious, superfood smoothie with tropical
flair! I love the vibrant color, too! Remember, when it comes to health, eat the
rainbow! Get creative with your freezer bag smoothies! This one is also from my brand new Vegetarian
Meal Prep eBook— stick around to the end for, perhaps, a discount
code!? Next up is my morning matcha smoothie! Matcha is a green tea powder that’s metabolism
boosting, a detoxifier, calming, vitamin-rich, and enhances mood and
concentration! The real trick is learning how to choose GOOD matcha. If you think you don’t like matcha, you
may have tried a low-quality variety. So try to find one from Japan—it should
be a SUPER vibrant green, it should not be bitter and should actually
be a bit sweet, and unfortunately, it will be a bit pricier
for the good quality stuff. With matcha, you really do get what you pay for. For this smoothie, I start with frozen ripe
bananas— the more brown spots, the sweeter! Along with spinach, frozen if desired, frozen pineapple, coconut milk, and matcha. I’m really getting quite a few superfoods
into this baby! Honestly, I throw spinach into a smoothie
as much as possible because it’s the easiest way to get those
greens in and you don’t even taste it. This baby is a satisfyingly sweet breakfast! Thumbs up for sneaking those veggies in! Next I’m sharing a blueberry acai smoothie. Acai is one of the healthiest berries in existence
from the Amazon! It’s healing, immune-stimulating and energy-boosting,
and filled with antioxidants. It’s heart healthy, helps with digestion,
weight loss and has anti-aging effects! You can’t eat the whole berry so you generally
find it in frozen packets or powder form. I prefer the frozen packets. I do have an acai episode if you want more
information on the super-fruit AND some really cool recipes. I add a packet of that frozen acai, frozen
blueberries, a frozen banana, almond milk, some Greek yogurt— but feel free to use coconut or soy
to keep this vegan— and maple syrup or honey, whatever suits you. I love the deep rich color of this one, it’s hard to believe that color is from
natural existing whole foods! Very cool and extremely refreshing! If you’re enjoying these smoothie recipes,
be sure to subscribe and hit the bell so you’re notified of new videos and meal-preppable
recipes all month long! The last one of the day is my sweet potato
pecan smoothie. Sweet potato is a surprising superfood, but
they’re actually super vitamin rich— loaded with vitamin B6, C, and D, as well
as iron, magnesium, and potassium. AND, because the natural sugars are released
slowly since they’re a complex carbohydrate, they
won’t cause blood sugar spikes. I add sweet potato puree, pecan milk (if you
can find it), coconut milk yogurt, maple syrup, chopped pecans, cinnamon, nutmeg
and ice cubes to the blender. It’s like Thanksgiving in a smoothie! I know we’re a little bit past Thanksgiving, but I personally love those flavors year-round. What a fun way to enjoy superfoods! I hope you’ve enjoyed these breakfast smoothie
recipes! Which one of these recipes are you most excited to try? What are your New Year’s resolutions? Comment below and let me know! And, if you’re interested in those new Low

  1. HAPPY NEW YEAR! I’m so excited to share all of the videos we’ve got ready for you this month! Check out my new eBooks for Meal Prep recipes! https://mindovermunch.com/ebooks. What are your New Years Resolutions? I’m sharing mine today on Insta Story @mindovermunch!

  2. Ahh!! Ive been watching since 40,000 subs and its so awesome to see you now at half a million!!! Happy new year!!! Thanks for always making quality videos !!

  3. This video is about to make me go buy a blender 😂 (I’ve been wanting to get one for a while, though, so this might just be an excuse.)

  4. Love these – definitely inspired to add tumeric and pomegranate juice to my smoothies now! My own tip – if you meal prep bags of frozen fruit, let the bag sit out and thaw for a bit before blending it (maybe grab the bag out of the freezer before hopping into the shower). The fruit will blend better when it’s softer and allow for way more flavor. The opposite is true for the ingredients you DON’T want to taste – keep the spinach and kale as frozen as possible before tossing it in!

  5. I don't suppose we could get a low-carb, high protein, vegetarian meal prep ebook? LOL I want it ALL! 🙂

  6. Alyssia, bananas started making my mouth itch a few years ago and latex band-aids started giving me a rash, so I had to stop bananas and using any latex SO! Any good subs for ripe banana in smoothies? That's where I miss them the most — they really made the smoothies. I don't even like smoothies without them. Thanks!

  7. Query: Do the meal prep ebooks include shopping lists? If not, could you add those in the future? 🙂

  8. OMG that last smoothie was a desert! That one is cool and the matcha one. Thanks for the tip on matcha.

  9. These colors are mesmerizing… I cnt wait to try sweet potato – pecan smoothie.. 😋😋
    Happy new year Alyssia..☺️☺️

  10. Love love love your videos. Such great content and the quality of the videos is unbeatable. You can tell how much love and hard work you put into each episode. Thx for sharing!

  11. I'm always busy and on ghe go these smoothies are amazing! I am so excited and wow I want to buy ur book!!::))

  12. Is there anything I could use in place of bananas as I am allergic to them and I have an intolerance to avocados. Thank you 😀🍇🍉🍊🍋🍎🍓🍒

  13. Hi Alyssia happy new year! Thanks for these simple smoothie recipes, and wanna say how entertaining your videos are! Keep it up girl 🙂 greetings from the island of Malta

  14. Love these recipe smoothie, I love pumpkin, have you got one with pumpkin in it, I know I can probably come up with one, but, would love to see what you come up with!

  15. I would try all those different type of smoothies thank you for this video another year with you makes my year love the way your videos have so much information and detail until next time

  16. I will probably make all of these at some point. I may sub the frozen banana for frozen cauliflower. My goal for the year is continue weight training to get stronger.

  17. Would you be willing to share what brand of matcha you buy? I’ve been on the fence about ordering some because I don’t want to buy a counterfeit.

  18. Happy New Year, Alyssia! I appreciate your channel, your knowledge, your humor, and your willingness to share with us all. Here's hoping you have a fantastic year!

  19. Great smoothies video. When you blend the pomegranate seed, does it blend completely? I have diverticulitis and can't eat whole seeds and nuts. It will be a good idea if you can create a Vegetarian/Low Carb e-book meals too. Thanks

  20. Love these recipes, Alyssia. Happy New Year! (Just as a side note, in case you haven't noticed, a couple of the early slides in this video has a typo in the word antioxidants and appears as "anitoxidants". Thought I'd let you know for future videos). Cheers.

  21. Nice! You look great Alyssia; so sophisticated. I love the smoothies have a thematically conceptual logic and coherence. That is, the flavor and aesthetic combinations make sense. Like you don't just arbitrarily add that damned spinach in all of them just because you can. (Don't get me wrong; I love spinach — just not in fruit smoothies.) Blooper was a nice touch. You and your behind the scenes peep/(s?) put so much work into these. Again, bravo!

  22. thanks for this great video! how about making videos of healthy arabic recipes? im arabic i can help u with some recipes if u want :3

  23. I would love to see a video about Meal Prepping for one person. I live alone and I often cannot use "one Tbsp of chopped onion" or "1/2 cup of beans", because the rest of the food will molder due to the fact that there is only one person in my household who doesn't eat very much.
So, I hope you see this comment and think about my suggestion. Thank you very much for your informative videos! Greetings from Germany. 🙂

  24. Hey Alyssia! Could you make another series of low-cost/fast/easy meal preps again? I love those videos and need more inspo for this new year! 🙏🏼 thanks!!

  25. I'm sorry but I cringed when the tumeric and matcha were dropped everywhere. I hope it was used rather than wasted…

  26. Your channel is the reason my resolution is to be healthier (meal prep and making almost everything homemade) 🙂

  27. Thank you so much for creating this video. You definitely should get more than 1 million subscribers. Looking forward to two videos in January, along with different videos. Already ordered the eBooks!

  28. I like how she isn't hella basic.. not super blonde, tan, and creepily wifey. I'm sick of all the Suzie homemakers lol

  29. so I just bought the vegetarian ebook and I really appreciate the oatmeal cups! That recipe alone will help me out so much! I still am not a big fan of the overnight oats but I love oatmeal in the morning so a warm prepped option is perfect for me!
    Thanks!

  30. Just wondering

Do you clean the ingredients that you pour on your counter 🤔😃😃
(You’re kind of making a mess when you don’t have to)

  31. These look amazing! Does anyone have a good alternative to using banana though? I cannot stand the taste of bananas and, to me, it completely ruins the otherwise amazing flavour of the smoothies I've tried.

  32. where can I get them frozen or powder acai berries at would they have it in our health food store here in Iowa

  33. Omg these look so awesome! I have been vegetarian for the past few months but plan on going vegan soon. Definitely didn’t know about coconut milk yogurt!

  34. These look so good I am so going to try these! Thank u so much for making so many recipes to choose from!❤️💖💜

  35. Today is the day after Thanksgiving 2018;
And verily found this video with ( pumpkin flavored smoothie)🤦🏻‍♀️

  36. Hi for the sweet potato puree did you bake a sweet potato and pureed it yourself or did you actually buy a puree? If I can't find pecan milk can I use almond milk to substitute? Thanks 😌 great video
