Welcome back to Faith and Bible ASMR. If this is your first time joining me thank you for being here and I hope
that you’ll subscribe to my channel. I do ASMR videos that are all faith related
and I post them twice a week. And right now we’re studying Genesis. One day I am
doing the Bible reading for that chapter and the other day I’m doing the Bible
study. And today we are focusing on Genesis 2. If anyone is wondering if all
three of the Trinity are present at creation, I am referring to an article in
the Institute of Creation It is on the Trinity and being at
creation, and so I just want to read a few sentences from it for you. The triune
God which means the Trinity, the Holy Spirit, God the Father, and God the Son
were all present. They are three in one and I the best way that I’ve heard to
make that analogy is parts of an egg. It’s all an egg and yet you have
the shell, the yolk, and the white of the egg and it composes the whole egg. well
with God they are three-in-one and yet they are one God. And it’s something we won’t
fully understand until we get to heaven. The Holy Spirit is referred to in
Genesis 1: 1 -3 and it says, “And the Spirit of God moved
upon the face of the waters and God said let there be light and
there was light.” Also God the Father is referred to there
and it says, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth, and the earth
was without form and void. And darkness was upon the face of the deep.” And then
Jesus is referred to as being present in creation in John chapter 1 verses 1
to 3, and I’m just gonna read that for you. And it says, “In the beginning the
Word already existed. The Word was with God and the Word was God. He existed in
the beginning with God. God created everything through him and nothing was
created except through him.” And here it’s referring to Jesus as the word. And often
in the Bible Jesus is referred to as the Word and then there are times when the
Bible is referred to as the Word. If you want to find out more about which Bible
study were using I list that in the description box. We’re reading from
the first5 app. I have permission to use their devotions and so that is what
we’re going to be studying in Genesis chapter 2 and it’s written by Krista
Williams. And it’s entitled Marriage Matters. The key verse that she
gives here is Genesis 2:24 and it says, “That is why a man leaves his father and
mother and is united to his wife and they become one flesh.”
Genesis one records God’s wisdom and power as he speaks the world into
existence. Genesis 2 records God’s love for Humanity as he tenderly forms man
with his hands and personally breathed life into him. Then God placed man in a
luxurious garden and gave him meaningful work God knew it was not good for man to
be alone so he made a suitable helper, woman. God’s first love gift to man. We
all know men and women are different but they also are more alike than anything
in creation. God made a woman to be man’s ideal counterpart in this world. When
Adam saw her he burst forth in praise saying, ‘This is now bone of my bone and
flesh of my flesh.” And that’s the verse 23.
I think Adam liked what he saw. There in that perfect garden, marriage had its
beginning. God specifically and intentionally created and established
marriage to be between one man and one woman. That is why a man leaves his
father and mother and is united to his wife and they become one flesh. That’s
verse 24. So what does scriptures first words about marriage teach us? That there
should be a priority to the marriage relationship, which means leaving our
parents and becoming one. Marriage should be permanent,
because hold fast means to cling, to cleave or to keep close. And there
should also be oneness in marriage. One man, one woman and one flesh. And there
should be openness and purity in marriage. Adam and his wife were both
naked and they felt no shame. They had nothing to hide
and no barriers between them. These are God’s standards for marriage and He is
glorified when we embrace them and apply them. Not only that, marriage is a picture
of the relationship between Christ and the church. So they apply to our
relationship with Him as well. Married or single, marriage is a picture of the
relationship between Christ and his bride, the church. As members of Christ’s
Holy Church. our relationship with him should be a priority. It should be
permanent and there should be oneness, openness and purity in our relationship
with Christ. Our greatest, deepest, satisfaction of
soul and purpose for life is found in a right relationship with God. And then
there’s a few verses here that I’m gonna read that she gives. And the first passage
is Ephesians 5:20 -33, and it says, “And give thanks for everything to God the
Father in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. And further, submit to one another
out of reverence for Christ. For wives this means submit to your husband’s as
to the Lord. For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the
church. He is the savior of His body the church. As the church submits to Christ
so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything. For husbands
this means love your wives just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his
life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s Word. He
did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or
wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. In the
same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For
a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself. No one hates its own
body, but feeds and cares for it just as Christ cares for the church. And we
are members of his body.As the Scriptures say, ‘A man leaves his father
and mother and is joined to his wife. and the two are united into one. ‘
This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the
church are one. So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself,
and the wife must respect her husband.” And then she also gives Second
Corinthians 11 verse 2 and it says, “For I am jealous for you with the jealousy of
God himself. I promised you as a pure bride to one
husband Christ.” Her question for us here is, ‘Married or single for the believer
Christ is our bridegroom. How can you implement these standards in your
relationship with Christ?’ So the prayer that she gave here is, ‘Lord God I thank
you that from the very beginning, you established and set the standards for
marriage. Help me remember and embrace these truths so my marriage will glorify
you. In Jesus name, Amen.’ And I think also we should consider how we can implement
this in our relationships with our husbands too, realizing that God wants us
to be unified as a couple. He wants us to be loving and kind, and there are
several passages on marriage in the Bible talking about how we should
love each other. And there’s also First Corinthians 13 which talks about what
love is, and that is a really good goal for us, especially with our husbands, since they
know us the best and we know them the best. In the video I put up this week where I’m reading
Genesis chapter 2, I talk about the differences between Genesis chapter 1
and chapter 2, so I will link that in the description box but if you have any
questions about that you can go back to that video. And please
give this a thumbs up. It’s always the best compliment you can leave. Have a
wonderful day. Bye.
