Four Bulldog coaches celebrate 200th career-win milestone

Since the start of the current
academic year, four Bulldog coaches have achieved their 200th wins
at Redlands in a remarkable display of talent, dedication, and loyalty. On September 21st, the Bulldog football
team defeated then-nationally ranked Linfield College to give Head
Coach Mike Maynard his 200th win. A week later, the Redlands men’s soccer team defeated
Pomona-Pitzer Colleges 5-0, for Head Coach Ralph Perez’s 200th win as a Bulldog. On December 16th, the Redlands women’s basketball team and Head Coach Rich Murphy defeated
Piedmont College to allow him to join this milestone club. And, most recently, Head
Coach Suzette Soboti secured her 200th win in women’s lacrosse to match
the accomplishment she already claimed in women’s soccer. The overarching philosophy or mission of
Bulldog Athletics is for our coaches to provide a highly competitive athletic
experience that allows student athletes to continue their passion and match that
with a high-quality academic experience. [That’s] what the mission is all about. We’re really fortunate to have the longevity
and the commitment in our coaches that we have. Maynard, Perez, Murphy, and Soboti have
now joined an elite group of Redlands coaches, both past and present, who
have reached this milestone previously. But to watch them do this in [a]
single academic year is truly amazing. As they lead their teams
into the next decade, we celebrate their commitment to the
Bulldog student athlete experience.
