Are you looking for an awesome superbowl cupcake
recipe? Check out these delicious fluffy chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. Superbowl
Sunday is almost here, so stay tuned to see how to make these cupcakes.
Welcome to Artsy Cupcake. I’m Maria and twice a week I post helpful reviews, home
decorating, recipe and style videos. Make sure to subscribe if you want to be part of
the artsy cupcake crew. I was inspired by some ideas I saw on pinterest
and wanted to give these stadium themed cupcakes a try with my own take on them. It’s a very
minimalist overhead look at a stadium. I mean there’s only so much you can do with the
canvas being the size of a cupcake but even with that, I think these came out pretty good.
So, let’s get into what you will need. The super fluffy and moist cupcakes are made from
scratch and for the icing, I used store bought cream cheese frosting. I will put a link in
the description box below this video to my blog, where I will have this recipe in an
easy to print format. For the cupcakes, the ingredients you will
need are: • 1 cup granulated sugar
• 3/4 cup all-purpose flour • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1 tsp baking powder • 3/4 tsp baking soda
• 1/2 tsp salt • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
• 1/2 cup milk • 1 egg, lightly beaten (preferably room
temperature) • 1 tsp vanilla extract
• ½ cup hot water First you will Preheat oven to 350F and line
a muffin tin with 12 cupcake liners In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar,
flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Next you will stir in the oil and milk. Stir this until everything is combined.
Add the beaten egg and vanilla extract. Then you will add hot water and stir until
the mixture is evenly combined. The batter will be thin and when you first add the water,
the batter will separate a bit, so keep stirring until it is even in texture. The batter will
end up being thinner than a typical batter, but that’s ok because somehow this ends
up making the softest fluffiest cupcakes ever so we can be ok with some thin batter.
Take the batter and fill the lined muffin tins 2/3 of the way full.
Bake at 350 degrees for around 20 minutes or until a toothpick in the center of a cupcake
comes out clean. Make sure to let the cupcakes cool completely
before frosting. For the frosting, you will need a container
of cream cheese frosting, some green decorating frosting and the colored sprinkles.
I started by using a knife to spread the white cream cheese frosting on the edges to create
something for our little superbowl fans to stick to. Then I took a plate of the colored
sprinkles and pressed the cupcakes into the sprinkles to add the people. The sprinkles
stuck really easily and stayed put until they were ready to eat.
I wanted these cupcakes to be really simple and easy to decorate, so instead of mixing
up the food coloring and having to get that into a pastry bag, I found this icing that
was already the right shade of green and came with two decorating tips. It was only about
$4, so really ended up being worth it. And I only used about ½ of the tube for the 12
cupcakes. I used the star tip to get a grass type effect for the area between the audiences
in the stadium. I could have added some stripes to the field, but I liked the simple abstract
look it had with just the grass. So, that was it to make these chocolate cream
cheese cupcakes, they are just perfect for a superbowl party. Let me know what you thought
