Shrimp Chow Fun

Hi guys, I’m Seonkyoung Longest.
Welcome to “Asian at Home”! Today, I’m going to show you how to make Chow Fun with Shrimp! This delicious and easy chow fun recipe is partnered with the most popular Chinese sauce
brand in Unite States, Pearl River Bridge. Are you ready? Let’s get started! First thing
is first, we are going to marinate our shrimp, so shrimp will have a lot of flavor. You will
need 1/2 lb of deveined and peeled shrimp, we are going to add into a mixing bowl.
Add 1 Tbs of rice wine, 1 tsp of Pear River Bridge light soy sauce and 1/8 tsp of white pepper.
Mix everything together. Set aside and let make the sauce.
In a mixing bowl, combine 1 tsp of Pear River Bridge mushroom flavored dark soy sauce,
1 Tbs of light soy sauce, 1 tsp of chili oil, this is optional if you want a little kick in your chow fun.
1 Tbs of rice wine, 1/4 tsp of sugar, and 2 Tbs of water. Whisk everything together
until sugar has dissolved. And set aside. Now let prepare the vegetables.
First, 3 cloves of garlic. And chopped ginger about half amount of the garlic.
1 red chili, let’s remove the seeds and slice thinly. 3 shiitake mushrooms, I’m going to remove
the stem part because it’s quite chewy. You can use it if you’d like to but I’m going
to remove it for this recipe. And just thinly slice. Shiitake mushroom will help, this, adding
some different texture, and flavor. 3 green onions. We are going to cut into halves in lengthwise. And cut into 2-inch pieces. The last vegetable you’ll need is beansprouts, about 4oz. Everything is prepped except my chow fun noodles! This is very fresh rice noodles, super soft
and they sell as a chow fun noodles. Fresh rice noodles. And if you cannot find this,
you can just use dry rice noodles soaking in the water for awhile or cook it about half
way to let them soften then follow this recipe. So if you are using same chow fun noodles
as me, over here, all you need to do is bring the chow fun into room temperature and then
we are going to separate them one by one so it will be easier to cook.
We will need about 10 oz. Alright all the ingredients are ready,
let’s get start cooking! Heat your wok over high heat. Add 1 Tbs of
cooking oil. Add marinated shrimp and cook 1 to 2 minutes each side or until shrimp is
3/4 way cooked. Remove(shrimp) from wok and set aside.
Add another Tbs of cooking oil. Then place chopped garlic, ginger and chili. Stir-fry about a
minute or until you smell the fragrance from the garlic, ginger and chili. Then add slides
mushrooms. Stir-fry for a minute or until the mushroom is soften, now let’s add the
noodles and the sauce we made earlier. Combining all together and keep stirring until
the noodles are soften, and absorbed the sauce. Toss in green onion, beansprouts and shrimp.
Stir-fry them 30 second to 1 minute. And you are done~!
Let’s serve on a serving plate. As it is, it’s just really perfectly beautiful.
But I’m going to top it with some sesame seeds and sesame oil to just a little garnish,
you know. When you’re making Chinese food, got to use Chinese soy sauce. The flavor, it is the bomb! It’s, it’s totally different. Um! Um, um, um!

  7. I've been looking for years and I cannot find chow fun noodles anywhere. I once had this this dish in New Jersey and loved it but it seems impossible for me to find this kind of noodle online. I know I can use other noodles but I want the wide flat noodle for the chow fun. Can you please help me?
