WE ARE IN THE SECOND HALF OF AUGUST WITH WEEKS TICKING OFF UNTIL THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL. THIS WEEK THERE ARE SEVERAL WAYS TO SOAK UP END OF SUMMER VIBES. SAINT ANTHONY’S FEAST IS CELEBRATING ITS 100th YEAR. THINGS KICKOFF WITH OPENING CEREMONIES, ALL WEEKEND THE FESTIVAL WILL FEATURE ITALIAN FOOD FROM 100 VENDORS ALONG WITH MUSIC AND PARADES. THE HIGHLIGHT IS SUNDAY WITH A TEN HOUR PROCESSION OF A STATUE OF SAINT ANTHONY. ON THE SOUTH SHORE, THEY’RE HOSTING A FAMILY FUN DAY. SATURDAY BETWEEN 2:00 AND 6:00, THERE WILL BE A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE. LIVE MUSIC, GAMES, FOOD, FACE PAINTING, INFLATABLE SLIDES, BOUNCY HOUSES, ALONG WITH A SCAVENGER HUNT. NORTH OF THE CITY BUT STAYING ALONG THE WATER, A FLEET OF RARE AND VINTAGE BOATS WILL SAIL IN SALEM ON SATURDAY. FOR THE 37th ANTIQUE AND CLASSIC BOAT FESTIVAL. ABOUT 40 BOATS ARE EXPECTED.
