What is Easter Sunday | Why Do We Celebrate Easter | 5 Facts about the Resurrection of Jesus

Easter Sunday or as some prefer to say, Resurrection
Sunday is recognized once a year between March 22nd and April 25th. It’s the day Christians everywhere for the
past 2000 years have celebrated the Resurrection of Jesus Christ! As far as the Christian faith is concerned,
the fact that after being dead for three days, that Sunday two thousand years ago, when Jesus
rose from the dead, means everything! The resurrection of Jesus, is central to the
Christian faith. The Apostle Paul said, “if Christ has not
been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain (1 Corinthians 15:14). He later says, “if Christ has not been raised,
your faith is futile and you are still in your sins (1 Corinthians 15:17).” We celebrate that fact that Jesus rose from
the dead, because He proved at least 5 things. He proved his deity, He proved His power to
forgive, He proved his power over death, He proved true the Word of God, and He proved
our triumph over the devil. If those aren’t good reasons to celebrate,
then I don’t know was is! Now if your thinking, ok I get that, but what
does the Easter bunny and Easter eggs have to do with the Resurrection of Jesus? Well, Biblically speaking, absolutely nothing. That all comes from the ancient Roman Catholic
Church who combined what was common spring fertility rituals and elements with the celebration
of Jesus’ resurrection to appeal to non-Church goers at that time… and it just stuck. So many years later, the commercialization
of Easter Sunday is a huge distraction to what Christians are really celebrating. This Resurrection Sunday, I encourage you,
and those you celebrate with, to focus on what really matters. The Resurrection of Jesus Christ, and the hope that He brings us. If this devotional was encouraging, please

"You shall not behave thus toward the LORD your God, for every abominable act which the LORD hates they have done for their gods; for they even burn their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods. 32"Whatever I command you, you shall be careful to do; you shall not add to nor take away from it.…

  3. The origin of Easter is pagan. Ishtar as it is spelt is the Goddess of fertility etc, that is where we get the Easter egg from. Yes Jesus death and resurrection is essential. You need to look up the origin of easter and you will find it has nothing to do with christianity. Passover is where it is at. Instead of taking on traditions that our ancestors did we need to look at what the Bible says. These are not facts, you are teaching that paganism dressed as Christianity is fine.

  4. I have a question that I have asked a lot of people and have not received any answer. When and why did the Jewish people stop giving the blood of lambs??, They didn't believe that Jesus was the Christ..

  9. Yes the Easter Bunny it's a way of brainwashing young children because that's what religions do instead of allowing them to grow up and have a belief they want I'm not saying anyone's belief is wrong I'm just saying infringing a belief on someone else can't really be taking as a true belief I think the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus should be banned from society they don't promote imagination like they believe in fact I think they do the exact opposite

  10. There is no anywhere in bibles mentions about this Easter Celebration!!! All these are man made celebrations. Rev 22:18 and 19 – Reads : 18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. 19 And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.

    Mathew 28:1 Reads :
    Jesus Has Risen

After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
Based on the above verses "Jesus Rose on the 1st day of the week after Sabbath" If so Isn't Easter should be celebrated on Monday!!! Why is it celebrated on Sunday!!!
