What is Hanukkah and should we celebrate it?

Hey, welcome back. What is Hanukkah and should we celebrate it? Its time to UNLEARN the lies. Daniel prophesied about the desecration of
the Temple that took place approximately 200 years before Yeshua was born. During this time, Antiochus Epiphanes wanted
to assimilate the Jews into Greek culture, so he outlawed Torah scrolls, forbid circumcision,
and ordered Jews to eat unclean things. It was also during this time that he ordered
that a pig be sacrificed on the alter in the Temple, which fulfilled Daniel’s prophecy
about the desecration. Interestingly, Yeshua makes reference to this
prophecy and says that a similar event will happen again. “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of
desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads,
let him understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.” – Matthew 24:15-16 So, if these events are prophesied to repeat,
then we should probably take note of them so that we know what to look for. There are a lot of different theories about
what this future desecration might look like, but ultimately, we will not know for sure
until it happens. I find it very interesting to note that Antiochus’
original name was Mithradates, meaning “given by the deity Mithra,” and it was during a
midwinter celebration that he ordered the desecration of the Temple. Mithra was a sun-god and in some pagan cultures
the death and rebirth of the sun-god was celebrated in midwinter. This has led some scholars to conclude that
Christmas might have some connections to Mithra worship. It is also interesting to note that the word
“hanukkah” means “dedication,” and it is the celebration of the re-dedication of the Temple
after being desecrated. I find this extremely fascinating, because
the Bible refers to us as being the Temple of the Holy Spirit. This is why I now choose to celebrate Hanukkah,
because it commemorates the re-dedication of the Temple to God. It is a great time for us to re-dedicate our
lives back to God, and remove any idolatry that has crept in. The Bible makes a point to mention Yeshua
being part present at the Temple during the feast of dedication in the Gospel of John. “Now it was the Feast of Dedication (Hanukkah)
in Jerusalem, and it was winter. And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon’s
porch.” – John 10:22-23 Some people have argued that He might not
have been there to celebrate Hanukkah, but the Gospel of John makes it pretty clear that
Yeshua only traveled to Jerusalem for the Feasts, and that He stayed around Galilee
the rest of the time. We also know that during Passover Yeshua had
a very strong reaction against something He disapproved of, and He took a whip to drive
out the money changers in the Temple because of His zeal for the Temple. “Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand,
and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And He found in the temple those who sold
oxen and sheep and doves, and the moneychangers doing business. When He had made a whip of cords, He drove
them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers’
money and overturned the tables. And He said to those who sold doves, “Take
these things away! Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!” Then His disciples remembered that it was
written, “Zeal for Your house has eaten Me up.” – John 2:13-17 So, if there was something about Hanukkah
that He did not approve of, He would have said or done something about it because of
His zeal for the Temple. However, the Bible simply tells us that He
was at the Temple during Hanukkah walking in the courtyard. He does nothing to oppose the celebration
of Hanukkah, and it seems that He made a special trip to Jerusalem so that He could be at the
Temple during the celebration. So, if Yeshua did not oppose Hanukkah, then
we should have no objection to celebrating it. There is also an interesting connection between
Hanukkah and Sukkot. Did you know that the original dedication
of Solomon’s Temple took place during the time of Sukkot? “At that time Solomon kept the feast seven
days, and all Israel with him, a very great assembly from the entrance of Hamath to the
Brook of Egypt. And on the eighth day they held a sacred assembly,
for they observed the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days. On the twenty-third day of the seventh month
he sent the people away to their tents, joyful and glad of heart for the good that the Lord
had done for David, for Solomon, and for His people Israel.” – 2 Chronicles 7:8-10 It is no coincidence that both Sukkot and
Hanukkah are 8 day celebrations, this was done intentionally to connect the two celebrations. Listen to what is written about Hanukkah in
2 Maccabees. “And they kept the eight days with gladness,
as in the feast of the tabernacles, remembering that not long afore they had held the feast
of the tabernacles, when as they wandered in the mountains and dens like beasts. Therefore they bare branches, and fair boughs,
and palms also, and sang psalms unto him that had given them good success in cleansing his
place. They ordained also by a common statute and
decree, That every year those days should be kept of the whole nation of the Jews.” – 2 Maccabees 10:6-8 Sukkot is a Temple celebration, but they were
not able to celebrate it in the Temple that year because of the Greek occupation of it. Therefore, when they regained control of the
Temple, they immediately held a Sukkot style celebration in honor of the re-dedication
of the Temple. This is why Hanukkah is an 8 day celebration,
and it has nothing to do with legends about oil. However, the connection with the menorah has
led to Hanukkah also being called the festival of lights. This title was noted by the Jewish historian
Josephus, which means the title was well known during the first century, when Yeshua was
celebrating Hanukkah. I celebrate Hanukkah because it reminds me
about how God rescued me from assimilation into pagan religion and how He re-dedicated
me to His service. It also reminds me that Yeshua is the light
of the world, and we should celebrate Him with the festival of lights. “Let your light so shine before men, that
they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16 Let your light shine this Hanukkah by your
kindness and good works. Thanks for watching this video. Post your questions and comments below. If you liked this video, share it with your

  2. Read the first book of Enoch and look at the world today and tell me with a straight face its not scripture! Read and compare to other scripture and trust the holy spirit to confirm it for you.

  3. We have a new covenate in jesus folks, by his death on the cross and ressurection , why seek ye the old law and traditions of your fathers.

  4. garbage. Judaizing. I want nothing to do with a shite religion that calls my saviour Jesus of Nazareth an "idol" and other horrible satanic blasphemies. Crawl back under satan's armpit. Revelation 2:9, 3:9 . Hanukah only became popular in the 70s because of that wickedly antichristian Rabbi Schneerson whom many Jews consider is the Messiah. He promoted not only Hanukkah, but Talmud doctrines of Noahidism, which outlaws worship of Christ , claiming it is "idolatry".

  5. The reference to Jesus in the Temple during the feast of dedication, it was winter is clearly giving us a time frame. It does not say Jesus is participating, further the following text Jesus is rebuking the Pharisee's then they seek to stone him. Context brother context. Hanakkah has a 9 candle Menorah, the Lord gave directions for a 7 candle one Exodus and said do not deviate from it. How can you claim to keep Torah yet go against and add another feast not prescribed by the Lord and alter the Menorah. Look up Talmudic roots to Hanakkah.

  6. Revelation 3:9King James Version (KJV)
9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

  7. Satan as anti-christ is the abomination of desolation. Satan enters the temple, and proclaims first to be messiah, and then God Himself. That declaration makes desolate. The KING clearly stated who anti-christ is. There is no mystery there at all.

  8. Also read Haggi and the dates he receives the Word from HaShem. Every date is a holy day, the only date mentioned 2x was the 24th of the 9th month. Haggi seemed confused but that due to the fact this date was not yet a festival. Haggi means festival.

  9. Awesome teaching my brother. I have liked it and subscribed. I know I will enjoy more of your teachings. The Lord Most High is with you when you speak.

  10. What does the Bible say about A SECOND CHANCE TO BE SAVED. What if someone is drawn, but doesn't believe, and then he is drawn again.

  11. The true dedication of the temple is the resurrection of Christ. His body is the temple and we are the stones of the temple made holy through the blood of Christ. No I we don't "need" to keep Hanukkah but we are free to celebrate it.

  12. I'm a little confused, you were saying one day to the Lord equals 1000 years. Where is this written? The creation was made in six days is this meaning six thousand years? One thing that always stuck with me is when a day was proclaimed was The first day, The second day. Not on a day. There is only one first day. One thing I never bought into is Dinosaurs before man. That would be death before sin, but I believe the Lord when he said there was no death before sin. I really like your videos, I'm been struggling with my family on not falling for the pagan holidays mixed in with Christian religion. Can you research, the go over dinosaurs and the Bible. Non believers constantly use that argument.

  13. While I'm not a Hanukkah celebrant but feel whatever you celebrate onto the Lord is up to you,( as long as you compel no one to celebrate) getting scriptural advice & using as Devine authority any Holy book apart from the Holy Bible is unscriptural & can open one up to deception,Rev22;19,Jil

  14. I agree with almost everything you say but following something that happened with the Maccabees, people that belived you can pray for the dead and save them, kinda like the Mormons with their baptism of the dead, this are false preaching brother

  15. In a country like indonesia, we did not have high exposure with jewish culture in the past, it was more buddhist and hinduism, so we dont know re hanukkah or any jewish feast. Time passed and came islam and christianity, we embraced the two without knowing the truth. In christians case we celebrated whatever were in the package until YouTube came along and frequently had videos clearing up the lost past. Truthfully i knew Jesus was not a westener, so xmas celebration would not be relevant, i am confused whether i need to celebrate jewish feasts given that we barely knew jewish people here. I dont actually celebrate xmas in my heart but in light of respecting others i do xmas things so it appears like others i am no trying to lie, i just keep peace among all. The only bunch of people who do not celebrate xmas would be the JW. Many will despised the JW and if i turn as JW, then i will have another episodes of burdens. But the JW is the closest to what unlearn re xmas/hanukkah issue has. Should i now knock on people's door?

  16. Jesus was not celebrating it.2)how can we rededicate our lives by doing this ritual as long as we are not reAdy to hear what the,Spirit says to the church. 3) Even if we do everything that Jesus did why we start ministry before we are 30 years as he started then and why do we work more than three n half years you know why Dont we also go and die on the cross because he did so . Pl stop misinterpreting teaching lie . We can talk and assure because people are not reading Bible and finding out for themselves . Church search the scriptures as the early church did till you find out the truth . Holy Spirit has, been given to us teach us keep Bible above human beings bind the spirit of deception and distortion. May we be found faithful n firm when he comes just spend hours in his presence he will reveal one truth after another

  17. I just adore the content your channel puts out. This was such a lovely description of Hanukkah. Thanks for all that you do…GLORY BE TO YESHUA!

  18. The Magi arrived at Jerusalem at the Festival of Lights in Jerusalem. They entered into the Herod’s palace dinner reception on December 24th, 2 BC. By the time they came out at midnight, Jupiter was at at 10:30 PM, Jupiter was rising in the east position. Then, they started to move their caravan and by early morning, Jupiter was setting in the southwest in the direction of Bethlehem. That’s where they heading. Jesus was already a year and three months at that time. Check your astronomy software and see Jupiter at 5 am on December 25, 2 BC. By the time the Warning from Yahweh came, the family of Jesus were already with the Magis on the way to Egypt. By December 28, 2 BC, Herod had all the babies two years and below killed in Jerusalem. Why? Jupiter started to show up in eastern sky on July 21, 3 BC. So, they estimated that the boy was one year and five months. December 28 is called niños inocentes unto this day. Also, January 6th was Three kings day. That’s the time they arrived in Egypt.

  19. Jesus said to his apostles,” Pray that your flight be not winter nor Sabbath day”. Yahweh had given Jesus the vision of the 40 days of Tribulation for Israel, starting with the 7 day covenant with many by the False Messiah. But on the 4th day or the midst of week, it will be canceled because the False Messiah will get a fatal head wound. The people of the prince will rampage Jerusalem and the 5th day, Sabbath day, the Pope will setup the image of desolation, the image of the False Messiah in Temple Mount to appease the people of the prince. This will be the end of 1290 day prophecy of Daniel. The next day, the False Messiah will be resurrected and at the end of the covenant week, he will make a triumphant entry to Jerusalem and declare himself God. This will be the start of the 40 day Tribulation and it will end the 1335 day prophecy. Both 1290 day and 1335 days started on Israel’s 67th year Anniversary. This time, Christ Jesus will be coming from Egypt to Jerusalem and the False Messiah will end on Three Kings Day. Christ Jesus 2nd coming will be 40 days after Rapture and 10 days before end of the 70 weeks of Daniel.

  20. what a bunch of hypocrits on here. First off Chanukah is recorded in the bible as mentioned here. It isn't a high holy day and it isn't a requirement to observe but why wouldn't you? This event commemorates a miracle of the most high for his people Yisrael. I call you hypocrits because you keep holloween easter and christmas which are all pagan and not in the bible but something that is in the bible you morons fight tooth and nail over the not keep but you'll keep your pagan BS??? Easter eggs? Yule logs?? You people are screwed in your beliefs. Yeshua is talking about you christians when he prophesied in matthew 7:21-23. You sunday keepers. Celebrate Chanukah and dump the pagan BS. Or don't keep Chanukah and dump the pagan BS.

  21. What is the point of your teachings? You don't seem to understand the New and the Old Testaments. Divide the Word of Truth. We are not in the angelic dispensation and of the dispensation of the Law. We are in the dispensation of Faith and of the Holy Ghost. Do you belong to the Christian religion or the Jews religion? What have we got a do with an inferior covenant with its Hanukkah and blood sacrifices?

  22. The abomination is NOW the perversion of the rainbow and the movement that represents the hedonism that makes societies desolate as in the days of Judah Maccabees.

  23. The 8th/added feast, Jesus himself celebrated, John chapter 10, being of the 8th day pattern after the 7 days of creation, millennium is the start of eternity and IS the time of the end. The day before 3 darkest days, Dec. 20-22cnd. Kislev 25th = Dec. 12th-19th from the Enoch, Zadoch Solar calendar. The Chaldean/False Jews with Rome are deceiving the people, trying to deceive everyone.

Matthew 24, Pray that your flight (Repentance) be NOT in Winter (Solstice) or on the Sabbath (2019/6001), Millennial Reign of Yahshuah… 2Peter Chapter 3, 1 day to God is as a 1000 years as 1000 years as a day. And on the 7th day He rested, 6001-7000 Rev. 20-22. 6000/50=120, days of men/ Jubilees depicted in Genesis 6:3, as it was in the days of Noah…

Hanukkah is the example of everything about the prophecies of the end, Zechariah 4. 24. When I read through these comments… woooo hoooo! do people get really worked up or what???

To those who think ya can't celebrate anything that's not a commanded feast… wasn't Jesus / Yeshua found in John whipping up some wine at a wedding celebration? That ain't commanded is it? And to those who are trippin' bout those two extra candles on the hanukiah — I feel your concern but dude, its not a temple menorah, it has its own name, "hanukiah". It's designed to commemorate an eight day celebration with one candle for each day and one that represents Yeshua that lights the others. The temple menorah was not for that purpose, see?

Look, I get that everyone is paranoid after learning so much of what they believed for so long was bunk… but please take it easy… if you go too crazy you'll end up living in the wilderness eating locusts and honey (or in a van down by the river) and then you may decide you took it too far and should have just stuck with Christmas and Easter. Fear not, take a breath, pray in the Spirit, let HS lead you.

    Happy almost Hanukkah!

    Shalom Shalom.

    PS: Love the beard, Lex!

  25. Anything you recommend to learn what exactly Hanukkah is? I know there's the story of oil for heat that saved lives but I seem to remember each day standing for something. I don't want to think it's something that it's not

  26. Thanks for this video. YHWH is teaching me more and more.
Question: How do I know when and how to observe the feasts. When is Hanukkah this year, 2018.

  27. This not sound interpretation of scriptures. Non of the epistles teach this. If you are so into celebrating, celebrate salvation every day. Rejoice always we are instructed.

  28. Thank you brother! This will be our first time with Hanukkah. Was wandering about the eight days and if there was more to it than oil. Thank you for sharing about 2 Maccabees with the connection to Succoth.

  29. HalleluYaH! This is an awesome view of the “feast day”. Somehow I always knew in my heart that this feast day must have some similar foreshadowing as it were of the feast of sukkot. Now I hear it being said so..so I give praise to YaH for He is my councillor and RABI Master YaHshua.. Thank you brother

  30. Yes, thank you for giving us this perspective! !
I am going to honor Hanukkah. The temple of God being dedicated.

    Thank you so much!

  31. We got a beautiful menorah this year but were unsure about having one with the hexagram on it after viewing this other video on YT in recent weeks. I think that Israel should put a solid star on their flag and not a hexagram, or a star that has 7 rays of light coming out from it. Or their flag with a menorah on it. This video tells more about it at the channel Truthunedited. The title Symbols Explained (Part 3): Pentagram & Star of David. I happen to love Israel and so does the person at that channel. The Israeli flag could have a filled-in solid star or at least one with 7 or more rays coming from it, some out further than the others. You can google images of the Israeli flag with a menorah on it. I think it was some sinister elites who gave them that hexagram they have on it. Pray for Jerusalem and may Israel be blessed and prosper.

  32. Who are the true Jews spoken of in Deuteronomy 28 and being cursed in verses 15 to 68? And, who are the people being referenced in Revelation 2:9; 3:9? Answer:. Only one group of people on the planet fit the description of the aforenentioned curses. They are the Negroes (African Americans) scattered about the four corners of the Earth. Likewise, only one group of people fit the peoples aforementioned in Revelation. They are Ashkenazi Russian Jew-ish (not Jews) converts with no bloodline to Shem. They are Japheth's children who are occupying the tents of Shem.. It's time for you to unlearn the lies as well as to stop teaching the lies. Will you rise to the challenge or will you further the deception? Good luck!

  33. The truest way to honor our Father and our Messiah is to embrace and proclaim Their True Names, YHWH and Yahshua, seeking what is important to the Father and loving HIS Ways, not our own. This is what Yahshua did…He revealed and proclaimed His Father's Name, and He taught us to Hallow That Name, YHWH. Everything our Adon did, always, always esteemed Abba Father. ☺️🕎

  34. the words "the feast of" are not in the greek text. The dedication Yahshua was at was Herod's temple dedication which happened in March, not December. Yahshua was most likely there for a census…which happened at the 1st dedication in 2 Kings, so  may of been part of Herod's dedication as well. So it is not Hanukkah, as we see today. also he was in the outer court, which Herod made, not in the temple. This was an addition made by Herod and not part of Solomons temple. Hanukkah as we know it today is pagan and just like Christmas….so what Yahshua was doing in John 10 was not Hanukkah, it was a temple dedication held by Herod in March, with prob a census….

  35. If you have a personal relationship with Jesus..He is the One Who will tell you whether Hanukkah is appropriate for you. That is the Whole Point of Jesus..Each person has his own personal guide. People need to quit expecting there to be one rule for All people. God Made us All Different. Hanakkah is not appropriate for me..but Jesus asked me to be considerate of those who differ from me. If people would Truly just be Considerate of one another and our differences..We could all live in Peace..as Jesus Tells us. Jesus said.."Seek ME for your Righteousness." He did Not say..seek the bible or church or pastor.

  36. When we learn that Hanukkah means "dedication" and we learn JESUS IS our Hanukkah, we find it is throughout GOD'S WORD from The Old through The New Testaments. This is my first year to forsake pagan holidays and keep GOD'S appointed times/moeds to meet with us. Hanukkah is the culmination of His seven feasts. He is our Dedication and we are HIS TEMPLE, a city set on a hill lighting the world with His light. The best teaching I ever heard on this is from Messianic Rabbi Zev Porat in Jerusalem. He has a U-tube channel with a new 2018 Hanukkah teaching that will blow your mind as He takes you throughout scripture and what it really says in it's original languages. These feasts are GOD'S, not to Jews only, but to those grafted into The Olive Tree, Christians (Romans 11). We have been robbed of much in our churches.

  37. Thank you for the insight I'm diligently trying to strip all forms of paganism out of my life now that i am more aware it is clear how mingled it is in society

  38. Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures was buried and Rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures 1 Corinthians 15 verse 3

  39. Wait, why are you reading from 2 Maccabees? Isn't that an apocrypha book? Wasn't it made by the Catholic Church after Rome founded it?

  40. Im a Christian but I started to feel bad about Christmas since several years without knowing why. It felt like false and senseless to me.
I stopped decorating the house and gave the tree away… it became less and less.
This year I knew why, I've read about all the pagan origins of the Christmas tradition.
This video lets me rethinking it even more.
I want live close to the Bible.
Its not easy in that world of deception, confusion and lies to know what is ok and what not.

  41. Jesus is a very personal Savior. If Hanukkah is Right for you..Jesus will let you know. If Hanukkah is Not Right for you..Jesus will let you know that too. Seek Jesus..Himself..Not a book with men's traditions.

  42. The bible is a book written by Men..supposedly "inspired" by God..but they are still just men..sinners at that..all of them. One of the purposes of Jesus Coming was to tell us "God is with us" He is Here to give us inspiration too. That was the way Peter knew He was the Christ. I am a person and just as worthy of inspiration from the Holy Spirit as anyone in that bible..more so..than some of them! I Seek Jesus and He is The Only One Who Knows what is Right for me. Peter Paul and Mary Do Not.

  43. Thank You!!!! My daughter and I were given the truth on the subject of Easter and Christmas and this year, we threw out all the decorations and celebrated Hanukkah for the first time. It was amazing!!!! Felt that wonderful still presence of Him and it filled our hearts! We are looking forward to celebrating Passover for the first time. Thank You for your obedience in sharing this, so many of us Christians are getting so much heat from other Christians for celebrating Hanukkah and other Hebrew or Jewish traditions. But as your church name is, We Are Grafted In!!!! Thanks again!!!

  44. Thank you, another video about the truth. Christians can still follow Jesus, who was Jewish. Study on the Sabbath, and not break the 4th commandment. Celebrating Jewish traditions, is something I am trying to learn, since my savior, Jesus was Jewish. Thank you.

  45. I'm celebrating my first Hanukkah this year! I'm excited. I'm cooking food, and planning things for each night.

  46. Disagree. Might be wrong but … why would anyone go back to a ruined temple? Ruined by God? It became a Messiah rejecting temple and it was laid low. How do we now go back to honor that temple? A Christ-less Temple? Unbelieving Jews. You've heard the term, right? That old temple is gone and Not to be rebuilt. If it is, when it is, it will be an affront to God. Lex, how did you miss this? Go back an honor a Messiah rejecting temple? Animal sacrifices for atonement again? Really now … Total affront to God!

  47. Hanukkah is strictly a Jewish holiday if you are not Jewish or not being hosted by a Jewish family you are not allowed to celebrate it.

  48. I absolutely love your channel! Its a big blessing! It helped me sooo much in the beginning of my journey to seek the truth. Thank you so much! God bless you and your work.
Always if I need a good explanation I come back here.
